The long-awaited fall weather is on its way! After the hot summer we’ve experienced this year, it’s time to make your list for all the things that come along with the temperatures we love so much. As busy mamas ourselves we know as much as you want to do the fun things with your family, you don’t always have the time to do the research to plan. That’s why we thought we would help by sharing some of our favorite fall and other fun outdoor activities to enjoy with little ones. This way all you have to do is pack the travel bag and load of the car!
Ride the Train at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park
McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park is a fantastic destination for the little and big train fan. The entire family can hop on board their train for a ride around the park or gallop away on the carousel. Pack a picnic to enjoy or purchase snacks from their snack car. There is plenty of green space to relax and enjoy. Kids can also run around on the well-shaded playground. After working up a sweat, cool-off and get ready to be amazed at the miniature train village.
Pet & Ride Horses at McDonald’s Ranch
McDonald’s Ranch is your one-stop location for family fall fun! They have a petting zoo, horseback rides, stagecoach & pony rides, a cowboy cookout, and space to rent for birthday parties or private events. Plus, starting October 1st they have a pumpkin patch! Stop by and horse around with the animals.
See the Leaves Change Colors in Flagstaff
Leaves changing color in Flagstaff is a perfect activity when you want to escape the hustle of the city and head for even cooler weather. Flagstaff will typically start to see leaves change color at the end of September and throughout October. Plan a hike with the All Trails app to find a kid-friendly trail with beautiful views of the colors.
Pick Apples & Run Through the Corn Maze at Apple Annies
Apple Harvest Celebration at Apple Annies is worth marking on your calendar this year (and every year)! The Apple Harvest Celebration on Labor Day weekend, and the Fall Pumpkin Celebration in late September and October. They also have a corn maze and hayrides starting up in late September.
